Hello, I have an 04 expo with the 5.4 that I just got. The previous owner said she had a new tranny installed and ever since, it would not drive forward, which is still the case. I believe she had a friend of hers install it and I am wondering if there is a key piece of linkage or something he may have missed which causes drive not to engage. Reverse works fine. Just seeing if there may be another alternative to buying a new tranny. Thanks

The Neutral sensor is a major cause of many a transmission rebuild,Called In most 4R70W and EOD's Manual Lever Position Sensor (MLPS) or Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) a bad sensor will cause this and will not always code, It may be disconnected, This is a cheep 1st steep prolly under $50 for the parts?..LMK

Cool, So can you give me any tips on ways to check this part? or do I just need to replace it and see if that works? Also, I have been researching where it even is without much luck, is it an internal or external componant?
