Tranny troubles

Any idea why ATF shoots out of the front of my tranny as fast as it was poured in? 2000 ford expedition. I pulled up to a red light, then when green the truck wouldn't move in any gear. Looked under and the road was soppin wet with atf. Called wifey-rescue. Got 3 quarts poured in. The truck moved, but fluid was gushing, but not from a line, more like the center of the bell housing cover. I parked it in a lot. I wonder if the torque converter went bad or a seal or WTF. I hope it's a DIY project.

It sounds like front seal, I can't see the torque convert drain plug just falling out

So I got a rebuilt tranny for $300 & install for $500. Seems to be doing ok. Anyone know a good way to "line up" the shift indicator? All positions need to be adjusted to the right, so when I want drive, I don't have to shift to neutral.

There is and adjustment for it on the steering column!
