What looks like a brass bushing slipped out of the transfer case pushing the oil seal out with it. I pulled the driveshaft off and have seal and bushing out, I can find the replacement seal easily but I can't locate a replacement bushing anywhere.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement bushing?

Try a search on:

BORG-WARNER BW4406

Ebay has many parts listed... replacement chain, gaskets, rebuild kits, etc...

Thanks, But still no dice...

I can find all kinds of parts and kits for the transfer case, but not that bushing. Ford wants you to buy a whole new extension housing for 200+...

I found a SKF rebuild kit that looks like it *might* include that bushing.

After a load of googling I came across this:

Page 20, part labeled 49 on that schematic is what I need. I called those guys up ( A & Reds | ) very friendly and helpful, I got the part and the seal coming to the hotel the car is stuck at.

I will try to stick the bushing in the freezer overnight hoping I can install it without having to pull the housing extension off to press it in. Worse case scenario I'll have to pull it and have a local machine shop press it in.

I hope this helps someone in the future...
