Hello
I have a 98 Expy 5.4 Auto 4x4
Not sure on trany I have
My question is can I swap my electric shift BW4406 TC for a BW 1356
Reason why tired of electric shift failing and I have a low milage 1356 man shift in the shed
I know they are wider and would need to change front yoke to a flange
Or do I just get a man shift 4406 and be done

If you van make it work, please document it. I posted the same question twice on this forum and never got a response. My thought was a manual BW4406 since it should be the exact same thing minus the TOD feature.

That's the route I'm going now
I'm getting a man shift 4406 slowly gathering parts. I'm getting a F150 Center consul and new dash bezel without turn knob so it all looks factory when I'm all done

Man I'm excited to see your results. I'll be following your directions when you're done.

Sorry for no update for awhile
Anyways I went with a 4406 manual shift out of a F150 it was a direct swap sourcing parts is fairly painless I installed a 4x4 posi lok cable shift for front axle so all Vacuum crap is gone I also got different dash bazil. Shifter is easy to source but mounting holes on the 4r100 don’t line up with holes on bracket so I just slotted it for some adjustment also the shift linkage rod had be lengthened to 10 1/4” hole to hole never could find 1 that long so welded 2 short ones. I didn’t wire the brown wire up either just hooked speedo up also didn’t install shift indicator thingy on front of case just plugged it462C8FC3-1EC2-4C3E-8701-F49F008A00DF.jpeg B69C7D7D-C141-4F34-A0F9-8D0EDB2E9EC6.jpeg 89383F55-187D-4953-AD24-D0A927F4C6D6.jpeg D14F2641-46F6-4C05-ADA9-311C910B8A89.jpeg
