Hi All,

I have a 2004 Exped. It's not my daily driver but I love the truck and I am trying to take care of things as they are needed. Right now, my biggest issue is the transmission coolant lines. One is leaking pretty badly due to rust and I am interested in options.
I am a big DIY'er and I would not mind creating my own fix but I have questions. First, will normal brake line work? Second, I hate those proprietary fittings into the radiator. I mean...a special tool to remove the fitting? Really? That's BS in my opinion. So, where can I find the pressure fittings that go into the tranny and into the radiator?
Or, am I full of crap? Should I just find the Dorman part and replace it with after-market or OEM?
Opinions?
I would like to know what others have done.
Thanks,
Mark

I have never created any brake or transmission lines.

But I would just look up Rockauto for parts for this.

Let us know what you come up with.

Are we talking about the same lines? I replaced mine with aluminum tubing so I would not have another rust issue and they were the size of my ring finger not the size of brake line tubing (but same principle with either flaring or compression fittings on the aluminum tubing just larger).

Just did mine on the 03 . I bought the line set that came with all the brackets. Was actually
not that bad of a job. After trying to get the rad fittings to release I gave up and purchased two
new fittings. The two line combo set is cheaper than individual lines and includes brackets.
One fitting is in the rad and the other is in the tranny cooler. They are booth different.
