I thought I saw somewhere a link or thread to upgrading the existing trans cooler on our first gen Exp. Cant find it now- anyone have any info or link?

no that wasnt it, it was a link to a thread from here I think on a DIY larger cooler that someone mounted up front in place of the original.

This may not be the article that you were referring to but this is an upgrade we just completed on our Gen II Expy. It uses the monsterous F250 trans cooler.
This write-up has a butt-load of pics and all the part numbers he used.

I'll tell you that it made a huge difference in our temps...probably in the neighborhood of 30 degrees cooler.
