transmission help...4r100...4r75w

i got a question maybe someone can help me out with. i bought a accumulator valve body with shift kit installed for a 98 expedition i had with a 4r100 but now i have a 03 expedition that i believe has a 4r75w. i want to know if i can install it into my trans or am i just better off selling it and trying to get another one. any help is appreciated

I am not positive but I would be willing to bet that it wont work. The 4r75 is supposed to be a completely different transmission.

yeah i hear there both different 4r100 being the stronger of the 2 and longer also. well i guess i might just sell it then since i wont be able to use it...thanks

It wont work. The 4r75w is an updated 4r70w. Although the bell housing bolt pattern is the same that is it for the similarities.

Oh didn't know that but are the internals the same as a 4r100 or are they way different?

The internals are way different. The 4r100 was made to take the abuse of the Power Stroke.

so then i cant use the accumulator valve body i bought. well then i will sell it because its of no use to me then. thanks.
