Hello all I have a 97 expedition and one Trans lines is leaking. I see that it has a small transmission cooler can or has anyone bypassed the radiator and put in a larger cooler. I was thinking of using 1 rated for towing a camper which I won't be doing. Thanks for the help

Yes you can add an external cooler. Bigger is better but unless you also add a thermostatic control the fluid temp will be all over the place. Cold temps are also bad for the trans. The ideal operating temp should not exceed 180 degrees F. so a temp gouge should also be installed.
Easier and cheaper to fix tube leak.

Thanks for the help...I checked the lines and I am just going to replace all of them. But will still use the bigger cooler since the factory one also looks bad from all the salt and ice melt the use in NE Pennsylvania. Again Thanks for the help
