Is that a question or a statement?
The 4.6L changed in 99. Can you still do it maybe, but it won't be a plug and play.

What would it involve in swapping them out putting the 2000 into the 1998
First you need to know what the 4.6 engine is in both vehicles a Windsor or a Romeo. If they are different they will not fit.
If both are the same you might not have any trouble at all with changing transmission.
If that is what you are changing because the way you post i cant tell if you are changing the engine or transmission.

Look at the 8th digit of the vin #'s to tell if they are Windsor or Romeo.
