Troubleshooting the remote entry system

I have recently purchased a 97 Eddie Bauer 4x4. I am absolutely loving the vehicle. The only problem I'm having is with the keyless remote entry. Following everyone else's directions for programming the FOB, I am still unable to gain any response from the remote. After cycling the ignition on/off five times the door locks lock and then unlock. Attempting to push buttons on the remote, I get no response. Does anyone have any advice for troubleshooting this system? Thanks guys.

Are you sure that the keyfob battery is good?

Thanks for the response Monsta. I just replaced the battery today and still no response for the remote keyless entry. Does anyone have any other advice for troubleshooting the system? Is there a fuse that I should check? Where is the recieving unit in the expy? Thanks for you feedback.
