I have searched, and there is mention of this issue in the things to look for when purchasing 2003's. But there is no mention of how to fix this, or if there is a solution.

I would love some help trying to fix the expedition from you guys! Cant have this big pig dying on my while driving on the highway!!!!!

Please, I am desperate with this thing.

It can be many things but I would first suspect inadequate fuel pressure due to the fact you made no mention of a miss.

Some possibilities would be a faulty fuel pump, dirty fuel filter, bad regulator or even bad gas. I would do a simple fuel pressure check and go from there.

I was thinking something in regards to the fuel line as well, just didnt know enough to be for sure.

As far as a fuel pressure test, any links to a video on how to perform one of these?? And is the fuel filter located in the tank with the pump or is it somewhere easier to access.

Thank you for the quick response.

What about replacing this relay? Worth a shot right??

7. I know you said 04-06, but if you were to look at consider an 03, pull the fuse cover off and check the PCM relay (R203, the one next to fuses 22 and 36.) Check for burning at one of the prongs. The early 03s had a problem with the fuse box frying the PCM relay which can result in no-start conditions or the engine dying while driving (ask me how I know...)

Fuel filter...

The fuel filter is very easy to change. It's located under the truck right about where the driver's seat is. Go to your local Advance Auto and pick up a Motorcraft filter ( p/n FG-1063 Made in USA ). Don't buy the other Chinese brands. The fuel line clamps are just squeese clamps, just squeese with your fingers and pull the line off. They'll click lock when you shove it back together. Use a flat screwdriver to pop the cover off the fuel filter area to gain access to the fuel filter. The whole job takes ten minutes. Keep a towel handy and wear eye protection unless you like eating gas.

Here's a crappy video of someone changing the Expod fuel filter, you don't need to put it on a lift though ... in fact the lift gets in the way.
