Truck lurches forward and stalls when going into forward gear. Sticky TC? Or worse?

Check if the torque converter has a drain plug, and if it does drain that too.

Hmm the only thing I can see that would possibly be for drainage is this right here: (see below pic.) I don't think that's it. Anyone else know if the TC can be drained separately? Also, what is that circular piece in the pic?

That just looks like an access hole on the bell housing. Should be a rubber plug. If the converter has a drain plug it would be right on it somewhere around the circumference or outside edge.

^^ yeah, that's the access hole alright. t/c may or may not have a drain plug. Check 360 degrees around it and you can turn the motor manually to line the plug up with that hole

Okay, so I'm in the process of looking for the drain hole on the torque converter and I had a thought. How would I be refilled torque converter back up once I've drained it?

Edit: Also, I replaced the two solenoids inside the transmission and unfortunately, that didn't fix the problem. Perhaps it's the neutral safety switch?

You refill the tranny and it refills the converter via the pump.

Park/Neutral saftey switch is there for starting only. It cannot crank if its not in park or neutral.

Gotcha, well there's no drain plug so I can't see if there's any metal shavings in it. Since the solenoids didn't correct the issue I got to find the transmission shop to locate the problem. :( Does the neutral safety switch control any shifting? (Up or down)
