Well the 2020 Expy made it 116k till the trans started throwing P07E6, a note popped up on the dash and if felt like it dropped out to neutral.
Of course I’m a moron and didn’t get an extended warranty. Got scheduled for a rebuild on my dime.

I read the latest tsb. I believe it bills 3.5 hours to pull the valve body and check it. If it isn’t leaking from the separator plate step 2 was something like 11.5 hours to tear down the trans.

I figure with the cdf drum, outer shell, other known issues I might as well just do it all rather than kick the can.

I cannot believe this is ok. It’s never towed anything, I’ve done the trans services in my driveway. This is unacceptable to have to pay this amount and act like it’s normal.

Guess the only reliable Ford is my 2000 7.3 Zf6 manual with 272k wins.

I’ll post up after rebuild thoughts on how it goes if anyone is interested.

Mine was rebuilt at 97k miles under Ford ESP. Now about 10k miles later, it feels a little wonky in the 3,4,5 shift while accelerating slowly and the shift into 5 is a little rough. I have not taken back to dealership yet. The issue is not terrible.
Make sure to check what warranty you get on the rebuild versus a transmission replacement and compare costs

She is getting rebuilt with all the latest updated parts.

CDF
ANODIZED SHELL
VALVE BODY
TORQUE CONVERTER

I did not trust an off the shelf built unit as it may have older parts.
This way I know it has all the latest and greatest.

I have my doubts if it will last reguardless.

I’m thinking about pre-purchasing a built transmission, having it built for heavy use and paying it on my time. Then dropping it in pro actively before an issue arises. If I do it re-actively I will end up with OEM rebuild and feel like my money didn’t;t buy better.
