Unknown Part

While I was cleaning the underbody of my Expedition today a part fell on to the ground. Has anyone every seen the part shown in the attached image? It sort of looks like a part of a clamp but I am not sure what exactly it is. It seemed to fall from the area of the transmission.

Looks like half of a hose clamp to me. The kind that you squeeze the two ends together to loosen it and it tightens back as soon as you unsqueeze it.

I hate those things BTW.
