So recently, Ive been working on different offset wheels to get my stance just right with the 35's i downgraded to from the 37 Mud grapplers I was on.

I decided on 18s, wrapped in nitto trail grappler MTs .. 35x12.5 they handle most anything thrown at it. recently took a trip into the snow, Didnt use 4WD at all, and never once got stuck . I aired them down to float, rather than part the snow. I was at 12 PSI. and they did great!

Id highly reccoment this rubber.

anyways.. so before , this is how it sat

This was on the mud grapplers. 37's and a 6 inch lift.

another shot

and here's the update.. I took half off the lift off, threw the running boards back on,Removed the roof rack,Had the rockers & lower strips rhino lined, found a better offset wheel , went with 35s, new rancho lift- with shocks.

after all was said and done, I had 5 inches of wheel hanging out, so i had to figure out some fenders, these things work amazing in the snow & rain And decided on 4 mudflaps.

Ive always had a thing for the tube style sidesteps/running boards.. For the guys who crawl.. they are well worth it. when they double as sliders.

that red EB expy is pretty cool looking. definitely reminds me of mine when I thought I was done with it

But I'll take function of looks any day of the week.

& I agree the trail grapplers will hook up in virtually ANYTHING.. and especially when aired down. I play in a lot of snow durning boarding season, in the cascades, and on the logging roads. I trust this year will continue to make me more proud of this truck..

also.. I have another project that I started earier tonight.. removing the door moldings.. I have one side done.. and man.. it's sooooo clean looking ill update tomorrow with pictures.

the wheels are 18x10 and the backspacing is 2.5 so they definitely help to push the wheel out if that's what you're after

ahhh yes the hawaiian look! wheels out past the hubs.. haha.. I think it's pretty cool to have some spacing. or at least the right amount of offset to make our trucks handle a little more safely.

I removed the anti sway bars, both front and rear. and I do mostly freeway driving, and then trails, and snow. when i go over rocks, dips, logs and even do mild driving through cross road creeks, and waterfalls.. it handles so smoothly .. A 100 % improvement over the sway bars being installed.. I went with the shallow and wide offset for stability.. plus let's face it.. 5 inches of rubber hanging out of your fender is kinda cool ;)

Mine is going to be wide stace also after tomorrow when I get my 1" billet spacers in, and then mount my 16x10 and 305/70's on. But what is it that you are using for fender flares of sort, and where did you get it? It looks good to use if I have to do some trimming and want to conceal the after effects.

It looks like he used Garden trimming, correct? Looks good regardless. But how are the trail grapplers on the road as far as road noise? I wanted to use them but was afraid of it being ridiculously loud on the road.

You're right . it's 6inch garden edging, the box was bright red and said it resists fading and cracking. I figured it'd be perfect.

I picked it up at lowes for about 45 dollars for 40 feet

I went ahead and used an inch of underhang that way my sheet metal screws would have something to grab.. I can literally grab the edging and shake the truck. I have no doubt they will hold up.. and if they don't.. it's 20 bucks to get a strip to replace it.

Okay, the nitto tires.. are quite simply awesome. I used to have some toyo open country MTs and these are more quiet than those were, the only down fall of these tires.. is you feel the vibration of te lugs while rolling under 5mph.. so the parking lot is a little rough .. anything above 20 mph .. they handle great, make little to no noticable road noice and are rated for a long tread life.

As promised here are the before and after shots of the body molding delete.

in the process.. don't mind my mess

V__31B4.jpg

&& here's the finished result.. I think, personally.. it makes the lines flow much better on the truck. I'll peel the pinstriping off tomorrow.

And the other mod, I had a burn out LED in my grille so, I figured i'd replace them all since I couldnt find the same model bulb i had used befor

I used a heat gun from homedepot.. But it was probably too hot, because the 3m style double sided foam tape they use to affix them was melting.. you'd be fine with a hot blow dryer from your wifes side of the bathroom.

I wore a good pair of gloves.. and ran my finger through the tape.. I did try scraping it.. and it gouged the pant.. which I then had to cover up.

So a little heat.. and some gloves.

Also.. you do not need any goof off, or goo gone. it's messy .. oily.. and just not needed.

I finished it up with the green bucket of turtle wax polishing compound from walmart.Just to removed the weather lines.. If i remember correctly.. it was just abou 3 bucks.

the pictures don't do it justice.. it looks so clean!
