Hi guys Matt here.. i started this week with few small upgrades on my 03 Expy. Since i noticed that one of the courtesy lights of the side mirrors was burnt i decided to chenge them, little did i knew when i opened the casing containing the bulb i found out that the whole socket had melted into the casing, why? cause who owned the car before put a higher wattage bulb and cooked the hell out of my side mirrors lol.

so i scrambled myself to get some LED lights, cut tru the wirings removed the now charred socket and installed the new LED

it fits perfectly and after a little modification i got it to stay put firmly in the casing.

here is another pic

now i had to clean and restore the plastic lens because all the heat had made it yellow, so after a good scrub-down with soap and toothpaste( basically rubbing compound) to remove most of the heat damage i applied some clear NAIL POLISH ( yes being married has its advantages hehehe) to restore clarity and give it some protection to the plastic.

here the pic of the final result

and here the before NAIL POLISH application

ok then i move to test the LED brightness

without the plastic cover

with the new savaged plastic cover

i dont have yet pics of the finished product because i was at my moms house with the family for dinner ( im Italian you can imagine how dinner goes) but it is already back on the truck and the result is amazing .. ill take pics at sunset and night conditions later today.

thanks for watching and if you have any questions or comments let me know

sincerely:gr_guns: matt

Yea, LEDs in the puddle lights does give it sharper look. I tinted mine so they would be lost with the rest of the black housing, but the LEDs I have in there manage to punch through.
