Do you have a factory 7 pin plug? Count how many rows on your tranny cooler, which should be located in front down low... best to see it through the bottom grill.

towing

Somewhere here I found info on how to go on Ford site and pull a build sheet. On it I have the rear axle ratio w/limited slip, with hd trailer towing, super engine cooling system, hd aux trans cooler, etc.
It's worth the effort to track down that thread and get the build sheet.

Super easy.
* All 2003 5.4L's came equipped with Class IV receiver and 4 & 7 pin wiring.

* All 2003 Expeditions came with a 3.73 rear axle, no other ratio was available. The 'base' XLT Value package and all versions with the optional AdvanceTrak stability control made it non LS, all others were/are limited slip.

* All 2003's with a 5.4L were rated to tow 8900 when 2WD, 8650 when 4WD, either yielded a 14,500 GCWR.

* There was no optional towing packing, no optional super cooling package.

* The transmission cooler you have was standard equipment.
