didn't find much info out there so starting a thread to gather current & all available info/options

as far as tranies goes, 97 had 4R70W/E4OD

98 had 4R70W & started 4R100 along with last year for E4OD

99/4R70W/4R100

http://www.car-part.com/shows compatibility for years 97-02 & also AODEW for 97-98

other variables are 2wd vs 4wd including 8.8 or 9.75 axles & standard suspension vs air auto leveling

finally, some driveshafts are double cardan (means 2 u joints i think) on the front

what i've come across so far (as i know) i've seen 4r70w with the 4.6 engine, don't think the yoke is compatible with the 4r100, also not sure if the 4r100 & e4od yokes are compatible or if the trany tailpieces are the same length?
edit - i think 4r100 & e4od yokes are compatible

i think the double cardan front is for 4wd application, auto load leveling suspension requires a specific DS & an 8.8 DS is not the same length (longer) as for 9.75

also don't think the 2wd DS is the same length as for 4wd

then there's this bit about "CV' type
