Anyone change out the bulbs in the vanity mirrors to LEDs? If so what did you use? 2016 EL Plati

Eager to hear this as well. My 05 had a nicer set up... My wife has complained twice about how dim the factory lights are now. We only picked the truck up from the dealer last Friday;)

The lights on the right side vanity mirror in our 2014 would not go out, and left burn marks on the cover. Getting it replaced tomorrow. Meantime, we took the light bulbs out. I'm thinking L.E.D.'s would be the way to go to prevent more heat damage if the lights don't go out.

Going with these, Ive got their amber front turn signals in my Ex now and love them. They make 6 and 9-SMD but ppl say those are way too bright. Thinking these 3-SMD will be perfect

Thanks I just ordered some they are super affordable. Did they make a noticeable difference?
Yes a big difference it went from yellow to white. In that pack there were enough LEDs to do all of the internal lights including the Glove box and the vanity mirrors. There were even bulbs for the licence plate.

Nice! I did this to all my interior lights. Makes a world of difference! It is very easy to do. Most interior lamp covers come off easily but there is a fear of breaking the tabs. They are tougher than they seem.

This is a very cheap and easy mod for everyone.

Just got the package in last night. Any tips on how to replace them?
I bought a set of small plastic pry bars to help me take the lenses off without breaking the tabs. Just go slow and study the individual lenses before working on them. Most have at least two locking tabs that hook under the frame. Make sure your truck is warm when you start bending the plastic so that you don't snap the tabs.

Pry with a vinyl prybar

Ford stuff is forgiving Ive pulled up just about everything in my truck and never broke anything on any plastic trim (for comparison, I've hardly ever managed to detach anything on a bimmer without breaking at least one plastic tab)

Done deal, not too bad. A little hard to take off the covers on the vanity mirrors. It’s hard not to leave a small mark around the covers. Nice white light. I asked for tips and no one reminded me that the bulbs get HOT.
I was left with a 2-3 bulbs but I didn’t change the one inside. I wonder where the other ones go. I did change out the one inside the glove box.
