I had the same thing happening in my Expedition. I realized it started when I started keeping a large bottle of hand sanitizer in the vehicle. After I removed that, the smell went away after a couple days.

Interesting. I do have a spray hand sanitizer in mine and I hose my hands down with it every time I get in. I wonder if some is getting sucked up into the system and that’s causing the problem. It did start around “lock down” time but I figured it was related to more sitting (although the vehicle never sat for more than a day or two).I had the same thing happening in my Expedition. I'm thinking of trying this. Is your truck garaged and how often do you need to do this procedure? ThanksMy cure is to turn the AC on lowest temperature cooling setting, recirculate mode off (bring fresh air from outside), blower fan on maximum speed, turn AC compressor off, crack some windows open, go for a long drive.

Most of my vehicles have K&N engine filters so I decided to add cabin and engine filters to the Expedition today. I'm not expecting a change but I'll report back in a few days.
