Who here has purchased additional warrenty on their expeditions after the factory warrently has runout? I have a 2007 with 81,000 miles and I was contacted by a company that offers warrently, gentleman on the phone said I could get a factory warrenty for $390 down and $160 a month for 18 months with a $100 copay each visit. The warrently would last 5 years. He went through his sales pitch and it sounded great, but I wanted the contract to read through and make sure everything was true as he was saying, well regardless he said I had to put $390 down before they would send out the contract so I didn't get it, but should I?

So you're looking at a total of $3270 for that warranty. Have you had issues with your truck to make you think you'll spend more then that on repairs within the next 5 years? Also, them not sending out the contract until you send them money would make me very leary. Personally I'd walk away from it.

Have you looked into a FORD ESP warranty ?

I got Premium Plan ( covers almost everything the factory warranty did )included when I bought my Expy. All I pay is the $100 deductible and it's honored at any Ford dealership, plus I get a rental starting day one if the vehicle is staying overnight.
In fact, I just had some work done recently where the labor alone was probably more than $1K and it only cost me $100 plus I had a 2013 Escape Ecoboost with leather as my loaner for 5 days.

Matt - thats kind of what this warrently was, a certified factory warrently where I could take it to any Ford dealer and just pay $100. The total was actually going to come to $2,570 and no I really haven't noticed anything on the vehicle that would make me think it is going to give me problems, but I didin't know if it was something I should be looking into since I have 80,000? I would think a guy could get 150,000 before problems accured?
