My windshield washer pump is acting strange. I can hear the pump run, but I get no spray front or rear. If I disconnect it and put a 9V battery to it, it sprays. I dont know if I should buy a new pump or what. Any Idea's?

I assumed that if I could hear the pump run when I activated the switch that I had power and ground. Am I wrong?

The only reason I say there may be a short is because you said when you hooked up a battery straight to it, that it was fine. Follow the lines and see if there's a nick in em somewhere.

I have an intermittent problem with the front wash / wipe on my 1998 Expedition. The pump and relays (in relay box in engine compartment) are OK so I've narrowed it down to being either the steering column switch or a bad ground. I popped the end off the switch and can see the contacts which look to be OK so I'm hoping its the ground. Have you any idea where this is?
Thank you.

I havent noticed any problems with my washer "pump" per-say, but I do have an issue with my windshield washer sensor. The sensor keeps going off and the dash light is on. Ive checked everything, and the fluid box is full, the cap is on, and the sensor seems intact still… Cant figure it out! Its getting pretty annoying!
