Hi again,

Since getting my new 2024 Expedition Platinum, I'm doing my 'new car routine' of setting it up with WeatherTech. I bought the cargo area mat, the smaller mat for behind the 3rd seats, the combination 2nd row and 3rd row floor mats, and the front set. The WT photos of the front floor mat online, show the mat coming right up to the panel, and no further. But the actual mat has a flap, that - as you can see shows I now drive a Ford Expedition 'Inum' ha

In short - anyone have any info on better-fitting mats? These will do the job...but they're not a great fit! I also saw the actual Ford mats - for the Expedition. They look pretty great, and a much better fit. Open to suggestions!

Thank you!

I don't have them in my Exp as it came with the Ford mats, but I've always preferred the Husky Xact Contours to weather tech on my other cars

Your vehicle doesn't come with factory mats for front rows? Factory mats on second row are just better than nothing there, but their mats for the first row are awesome.

The vehicle came with black carpeted mats - front & rear, with the 'Platinum' logo on the front two. Very nice! But as we approach winter here in New England, I was looking for weatherproof mats. The carpeted ones will be destroyed!

My vehicle came in with two sets, carpet and rubber. That may be because my vehicle has the black accent package, with all terrain tires. I seriously recommend the factory rubber mats for front row. They are the soft (easy to be taken off), and work very well.

Great to know! Thank you! I saw them online, after the WeatherTech didn't work out. They look excellent, but hearing from someone who has them? Sold! Thanks again!

I went with Smartliner for my 24 Limited. They have a shiny finish, but I like the full lip coverage for the driver and passenger. The second and third row is a single piece, which I prefer because of large dogs.

Look on the back of the mat. There should be a line you can follow to cut out that portion. All my WTs have had it. Personally I've never cut mine. I don't care if someone can't see what model is on the door opening. I'd rather look at the mat than scuffed door sill trim.

This is what we have had in our last 2 Expeditions and always had Weather Tech's prior to that. Love the Smartliner's for price and coverage!

I think Weathertech do the best job in the front and second row. I went with Ford's cargo mat. It folds kinda funkie but does a good job of fit and coverage. Plus use your Ford Reward points at dealer. I got mine for almost free.

I've had weathertech liners in all areas of my expedition for over 2 years. I ordered them while my husband was driving us home from the dealership. I think they do a great job. I take them all out a couple times a year and scrub them. The carpet underneath is as clean as can be. We live in the dakotas so we see plenty of winter slop, and we farm so lots of dirt. With 3 kids who tromp on everything like cattle (yes, we have those too) I feel good about the weather tech mats. I do wish the cargo mat had grippy fingers underneath so it wouldn't slide. But, no other complaints.

I’ve used WeatherTech for years, but switched to Husky. I think they fit as well or better and they hold your feet in place better.

I had the smartliners in my 2019 and thought they were great and fit well. The 2020 I have now came with the ford ones and they are fine, different but fine. I don't think they are as good as the smartliners but good enough I am not going to buy new ones.

Thanks to everyone for your excellent advice. I appreciate it! So, it turns out WT has a couple of versions for the Expedition. One is their standard custom-fit Floorliner, which is great, but it does not have a cutout area for the Platinum 'Badge.' The other is their Floorliner HP, which only costs ten bucks more, but they say it's the upgraded version, and yes that one does have the cutout, with a deep scored cutting path on the backside. I did the cut, and it worked perfectly on the passenger side. I had to cut about an 1/8" more on the driver side, since it didn't align as well, But I'm good! Especially since they didn't charge me for the $10 upgrade....they just sent 'em, and I sent the other ones back. Good company.PXL_20241026_202450587.MP.jpg
