Had to replace the alternator. Also did original plugs and wires (130k). Decided to do the Gotts Mod, clean the MAF and remove the intake silencer. Drives like a new truck and sounds absolutely nasty accelerating down the on ramp. :head3:

Worth it. That with the silencer delete seems to give it a little more jump off the line. Could be just my imagination but it definitely changes the tone under acceleration. For just a few minutes time and a few bucks, I recommend it.

The Gott's mod is where you remove the snorkel that leads from the fender to the air filter. The snorkel is only about 1.5-2" wide, which causes severe restriction. By removing it, and supplementing a 3" piece of PVC pipe, you can really open up the engine's breathing, thereby increasing performance. It is most definitely worth it, I will find the thread that explains how to do it and post it back for you.

EDIT: Here is the link I used to complete the Gott's mod

Ive done the gotts mod, removed the silencer, as well as put in a switch so I could put it in 2wd. I hae noticed nothing has changed. Same mileage and same performance

Put in a high quality air filter, that also makes a difference. It is not going to be night and day results, but you should notice slightly quicker acceleration and deeper intake tone.
