2times in the past 24 hours I get in the expedition, turn the key and it just cranks. If I turn the key off, and crank it over again it starts right up. I gave replaced the air filter 2 days ago. Any idea what this could be?

It shouldnt have lost pressure to the motor that quickly. It was only off for 20 minutes today when it did it. But I'm willing to give it a shot

i tell you what...i have the exact same prob...for me...it tends to start right up when cold AND iin cold weather...lows been around 32 degrees and high only 45-50 at best...started this past summer and thought it was my fuel pump and could still be...then thought it was my battery...still could be...but the more i crank the more it doesnt want to start...battery seems good...put on meter and reads good...14V on cap for system...so idk...i'm going to get a quote from dealer on cost to do fuel pump...then i'll get another battery...possibly dual battery setup but was told not needed...but i have a lot of stuff needing to be wired to the battery...so i'll converse more with thermo and see what he advises...

Freeway, do as was mentioned and turn the key to the RUN position, wait a few seconds and then attempt to start. If the truck starts every time doing this, then it is your fuel pump going. I can save you a "few" bucks as we can do the job right in my driveway. Not that hard. All I ask is if we do it, you hit my place with the truck as low on fuel as you feel comfortable driving the truck with. The more fuel left in the tank, the more weight we will have to move around.

As for the other electrical stuff, get back in the states and I will make sure you are taken care of.

Check fuel filter, I wouldn't worry about it though, my grand prix i had used to do the same thing, and my buddy's durango also does it, let it sit a few seconds with the key on before starting

there is two ways too look at this, the fuel pump has a check valve in it (may be bad)
also the fuel rail has a pressure regulator in it which has a diaphram in it (could also be bad /or going bad)pull off the vacuume line and see if it smells like gas. this is an easy thing to look at before the fuel pump replacement

Ok my problem is becoming more prevalent. Now it's every time I start it, it has this issue. Also when starting i hear an audible pop from the engine bay. Also occasionally it stutters while accelerating. Today it flipped a code but shut off after a few minutes. I am leaning towards coils are going bad.
