Yea, I'd just picked up my son and had just got back on the road, not even up to speed. THERE they were 2 does, the one I got was bounced to the ditch, got up and ran off in the woods. I'll have to check out Big Brian's avatar.Well that sucks but..... relatively light damage you got lucky. You hit a deer fast enough and the damage will be crazy. @Big Brian had some good damage as I recall. Just look at his avatar lol.
Still probably $2000 - $3000 dollars damage.Just saw Big Brian's avatar, I got NOTHING to complain about.![]()

Surprisingly not, I thought for sure there would be. I got a quick glance at the scene and checked it out fully in the daylight. Our speed was under about 30 mph and she (from the flash view I got) looked to be about a yearling. The fact she jumped right up and ran off leads me to the conclusion that she might not have been badly injured. God was with us for sure. That is unfortunate but like JExpedition07 said, at least you guys were not hurt. With some cash and TLC she'll be back as good as new.
Just curious, can't quite tell from the photos, any damage to the headlight housing or hood?
UPDATE:

Ouch!!!Mine was about $7500
Both front airbags deployed so that means not only they had to be replaced but the air bag module, the sensors, and the 2 front seat belts had to also (Ford Motor requirement when the air bag goes)
Although mine is a 2nd Gen I feel your pain. We smacked a doe last November doing around 50 mph. Estimate came out around $3600. Insurance sent me a check minus the 500 deductible. Just got my Rancho quicklifts in yesterdayand I am having a custom bumper made for it soon. All bolt on stuff I am replacing myself which is basically just the plastic inner fender, grill, header panel, and headlights. So when all said and done it will be better than before. I am thankful nobody was hurt and that I don't need to take it to a body shop. Hope your repair process goes smooth.
Thanks, I'm hoping it will go smoothly. I wish I was able to do some of the work myself and a custom bumper sounds like a good thing. I see a lot of guys around here with them incorporating brush guards/winches and I like the look, but sadly my days of off-road, back woods encounters is past. Meeting up with the yearling doe I did is a rarity these days around here.
