The ones on the outboard sides are already LEDs. Only the turn signal bulb closest to the grille is incandescent.View attachment 21860 can these be accessed and changed to LED? Little amber lights on far outside of the headlights. Just switched out the front turn signals to amber LED (went with JDM ASTARS for these) and was wondering about these little guys
Thanks! The ones on the outboard sides are already LEDs. Only the turn signal bulb closest to the grille is incandescent.
I just bought these from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4NF20Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Thanks!
You doing resistors or do you have Forscan?I just bought these from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4NF20Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
for my front turn signals. These are the switch back kind. They will be white for parking lights but flash amber when the turn signals are on. They'll be here tomorrow. I'm changing my tail lights to LEDs and I'm doing the front turn signals as well.
I have the resistors and FORScan, I'm going to try it without resistor first and then If I have trouble I'll install them. I really don't want to turn off the bulb out feature, at least not as a first resort. I'm going to put shrink tubing over all of my connections and seal the ends with silicone. You doing resistors or do you have Forscan?
I hear ya. I'm at that crossroads now on whether to invest in a BT OBD2 tool or resistors. I personally would rather not cut into factory wiring if I dont absolutely have to. I'm a little hesitant to do that as well which is why I want to try it without putting the resistors on first. If I could find LEDs with resisters built in that would have been ideal.I hear ya. I wonder about that Jeff. I wonder if adding back resistors just doesn't add load back to the system - afterall a resistor is just a heat producing device that uses current. One thing's for sure Andy....your alternator is going to live forever considering on how much you've dropped the lighting load by switching nearly every bulb to LED!

The resistor is wasting a lot of current, but only when the indicators are turned on, but in reality you will not be saving any power over the incandescent bulb, just have a longer lasting bulb (LED's last longer than incandescent). Of course if you don't need the resistor then you are saving some power!! But let's face it, we are changing to LED's for the coolness factor not power saving!!I wonder about that Jeff. You are absolutely correct.Resistors are a massive fire hazard, though
Very true Gary! The resistor is wasting a lot of current, but only when the indicators are turned on, but in reality you will not be saving any power over the incandescent bulb, just have a longer lasting bulb (LED's last longer than incandescent).
