Husband has the truck today... Always makes me nervous when he drives it!

Went off on him for trying to light up a cigarette last night! I slammed on brakes and made him get rid off it. Now I'm sure today as he borrows it he will be lighting it up. He needs to buy his on ride before I go crazy with concern. No one will treat your things the way you do! UGH

I tore the crap out of it. Somewhere in the backwoods of Canada, there are trim parts that got ripped off completely. I'm missing the fender flares and mud flaps.

I still have one of them, it was flapping out and the border crossing guard pointed it out.

The trip had to be cut short due to repairs, I came back before I got stuck way off the beaten paths.

I cleaned the engine and under carriage and outside at the car wash so it looks somewhat better :(

I'm fixing to pick mine up where is shut down on me a few days ago. Hope my 1/2 Chevy doesn't have too much trouble pulling the 6k lb Exp'n and 2k lb steel trailer or stopping it without electric brakes. Then I'll be trouble-shooting over the weekend.

Was actually waiting for Capt Morgan to help me one more time....

Got my "Siberian Express" horns (on the right in the pics). Can't wait to install them tonight or tomorrow. Gotta buy some compression fittings first.

I had to change the brake light switch. The wife went out to leave and the truck wouldn't move out of gear. After checking around it looked like if the brake lights worked it was the shift interlock solenoid and if they didn't work it was the brake light switch. The lights didn't work so I replaced the $5.99 part and it fixed it right up. I love repairs under $10. There just isn't enough of them.

I went to Lowes and bought more cans of black spray paint, various kinds.

The cans that were just enamel with the "prevents rust" icon, I used first on all under-carriage parts that can be seen. ALL of them, front to back, including the frame rails running down the side. I sprayed all of the metal that can be seen from the wheel wells, the skid plate, bumper brackets, anything you can can see of you bend over slightly and look down. Everything from the headlamps down.

All black.

I sprayed the bumper and bolts with a couple of coats of bed-liner spray and after drying half the day, I put on the new bumper pad and bumper weather strip thingies. The bumper is back on with a course flat paint job.

Later this week I plan to wax and RainX the exterior black parts just so they'll stay easier to clean.

And btw - that job I couldn't get done on Friday . . cost me $770 on Saturday. New rotors, new calipers, new ceramic pads and a new CV Joint.

I still have to replace the fender flares.

I drove it 50 miles away with the misfire and no ac yesterday. Boy was it a ride shook so bad and it had no power. When you hit 60 it was scary but anything past that was fine.
