Spent about 6 hours changing the water pump. I figured it would be good maintenance after reading about bad corrosion and cooling system problems in these.
Took it all apart to where i could access the fan clutch, struggled to remove the fan clutch, put it all together again, drove to aoto parts store to rent clutch wrenches, back home took apart again.
The fan clutch came right off with the proper wrench, however, I think driving to the store heated the nut up enough that it separated more easily.
The old water pump looked perfect-like-new. Oh well, now I have it as an extra.
On to the heater core...

) Fuel pump went south and it needed an alignment from the "shop" that replaced the upper rear control arm. While it was in there I had the front and rear diff lube changed out as well as the transfer case. Not difficult jobs, but no time or indoor garage.
