LoL I'm an idiot! I changed the oil on my wife's car yesterday and forgot a quart of used oil under her tire, sure enough I go to move her car and I run over the dirty oil quart bottle and BOOM!!!! Oil explodes all over my expedition parked next it my wife's car... Oil every ******* where every inch of the car (except for the right side) is covered in thick black oil....

It has proven to be a nightmare cleaning it & I ran out of alcohol... gotta go buy more on my way home today

I ordered a Hitch Receiver cover/step. Realized I didn't have a pin to secure it, so ordered one a few minutes later. Step is supposed to arrive Thursday, pin hasn't shipped yet.

Front brakes seemed to be dragging a bit, more dust on rims and acceleration seemed a little sluggish. Checked the calipers and they were good. Cleaned everything really well and looked more intently at the hoses and realized they had been changed. Look to be some cheapo parts store junk. So I pop the hoses off and realize whoever slapped them on somehow messed up the flare on the end of the steel line. Looks like they forced the incorrect hose type onto the fittings.

I happened to have a set of braided stainless hoses I was going to retrofit onto the wife’s Exploder. Brought them to parts store, got the correct brass fittings to fit them and got to work. Carefully cut the flare off, slid on new brass fitting, put a proper flare on the steel line and finished installing the braided lines. Some new fluid in the master and for a test drive we go........

HOLY SHIITE!!!!!! What a difference! The brakes are much much more responsive, grab stronger and harder than before. Going to retrofit the rear hoses in next. Should have done this when I first got the truck.

I'd bet you they are the same, it's been a while since I've driven a 2nd gen but it all felt the same. I'll look it up now.

Started doing the front brake pads on the wifes gator but AutoZone had to order in my parts. Since my youngest and I had some time to kill we decided to go and check out my friends father in laws 98' Eddie Bauer. Unfortunately it was too nice to pass up! So we'll be playing with this one for the foreseeable future. ea74330d33dcc0538462427f030851c3.jpg

Installed the new to me rear dome light I bought on eBay, because the bulb blew out in the original light, and I removed it to figure out what bulb I needed, and then put it in a safe place in the shop while I drove to NAPA to get a new bulb, and then could not find it . . .

Sucks getting old and forgetful. Maybe I should stop drinking.

Nah, the replacement lamp only cost me $5.50, I did not miss that light over the last three weeks, and bourbon is so damn tasty! :happy107:

I picked up a set of aftermarket headlights to do a proper HID retrofit for some Morimotos I've had laying around for awhile. It's really the only way it was ever going to get done since I don't have the time to do the job in a single day and I can't be without my truck for even 1 day.
