2014EL w/5.4. Got home from 3600 mile East Coast round trip. Florida was great ... 90's & sunny. Pool action was legendary! Experimented with 2H vs 4A gas mileage. Seems like 2H gives me 17.1 vs 4A 16.9. Very unscientific test. The Expy with 110K drives like its brandy new and it is a great cruising vehicle. Did not lose any oil and its just starting to take on a slight amber color after 4K miles. The cooled seats are great for Swamp Ass. Sirius rocks. One time interstate stopped traffic in SC, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Gave the Expy a thorough cleaning, inside & out - which I always do after along trip. Gotta get all those southern bugs removed. Used an old product to clean, which I find works best. Soap, a towel, & elbow grease. Updated stickers from last trip.

Intake manifold gaskets and tstat replaced. It wasn't a job that I had any desire to do, so I had my mechanic do it. $400 not including the cost of coolant (which is actually quite cheap at the dealer).

Good deal. I replaced the China intake recently on ole blue for OEM. Time consuming and a pain in the back reaching the rear of manifold. Changed thermostat and plugs also.

Put another round of new Michelins up front. Let’s see how long I can keep nails out of them :D

I've also had bad luck with tires in recent years. I blew out a Pirelli in the snow a couple years ago - first time I ever blew a tire on an SUV. Then shortly afterwards I blew out two Michelins at once. A couple people stopped and asked: "Don't you have a spare?" I said: "Sure, but I don't have two."

2014EL. Noticed I was only 6 miles until empty, so I headed to gas station and put 32.098 gallons of gas in. Almost $100. Need to pay more attention to fuel. The dim and hard to read console display doesn't help ... and never heard any warning beeps? Guess I do have a 32 gallon tank!
