The thing that bugs me a lot (beyond everything mentioned so far) is that cars are all the same colors now. Black, white, a couple levels of Gray, 1 or 2 Reds and 1 or 2 Blues. Occasionally you see Greens and even Brown. And what's worse is that if you want a certain color beyond those, it's only available in a trim package at much higher cost.

This is why when my 99 expy finally rusted out (but still running strong 4.6L at 236k) I upgraded to an 82 Bronco... My truck runs on 2 vacuum lines and 8 wires and never lets me down with that beautiful 5.8L 351 Windsor & Edelbrock carb. I loved my expy but anything beyond 2011 just disappointing.

As the currency is inflated, costs of producing new designs soar. We've entered an age where companies must show continued growth with very minimum investment. The US is joining other Banana Republics with deflating currency and inflating commodities. We're seeing one result of these trends.

When my 2008 goes, I won't be buying anything turbocharged. That's my line in the sand as long as a good alternative is available elsewhere.

unless you buy from Friendship in Johnson City, TN. You get the full lifetime warranty on the complete drivetrain. I only bought the electrical system warranty was advised and I bought it or obvious reasons. Other dealers may also offer the lifetrain warranty around the country.....

... seems the new ford 10 speed has issues in the F-150 & I believe that is the same trans as the Expedition and has a class action law suit filed, https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2020/ford-f-150-10-speed-transmission-problems-lawsuit.shtml , ...
From that reference ...
The class action makes reference to a 2019 Ford recall of about 1.5 million 2011-2013 F-150 trucks equipped with 6-speed automatic transmissions. The recall was issued because the trucks could suddenly downshift into first gear, a problem blamed on a loss of signal from the transmission output speed sensor to the powertrain control module.

According to the lawsuit, the 2017-2020 F-150s are infected with the same defects which Ford allegedly refuses to acknowledge.
I am quite familiar with the issue in the the 6R transmission as it affect my daughters Expedition AND I worked in Ford Transmission Engineering about 35 years ago. The rto cause of that problem was failure of the output speed sensor which was integrated into a part called the "lead frame". The symptom was a harsh/sudden downshift (because the computer saw the vehicle speed drop to 0 MPH).
From what was described, the symptom described on the 10R do not sound similar !

... turbo issues and loss of coolant with the T-T V 6 ...
I can't say I have heard of any turbo issues and "loss of coolant" on the "twin turbo, EcoBoost 3.5L" is a simple water pump failure. The problem with this water pump failure is that the coolant goes into the crankcase. If the owner simply replaces the coolant, WITHOUT finding out investigating where the missing coolant is going, over a period of time, will cause internal engine failure. (Yes, it is a dumb design to require the front engine cover to be removed in order to replace the failed water pump.) Water pumps have been failing every since they were first installed on internal combustion engines and will continue to do so.

The answer is cafe driven, ...
NAILED IT !

Does anyone know if ford is using the no fault thermostat in the newer vehicles? If it goes bad it will stick open versus sticking closed, which causes a overheat condition?

Nice......but that’s sarcasm. Friggin whole world has went crazy. This is NOT the world I grew up in. I miss all the local country grocery stores that fed just the local community, and you could walk to them easily and could get fresh veggies, eggs and fresh everything. If we wanted chicken I would help my grandmother chop their heads off, defeather them and gut em. Sunday supper on the spot. We had two milk cows and one bull plus a few hogs and a garden. Never went to buy groceries but to buy canning jars. She made our own butter and butter milk and drank milk straight from the cows. I’m now in my late 60s and only been to see a doc 3 years ago, and ain’t been back. All the crap they put in fast and grocery store food is slowly killing people. But no one seems to care what goes in their bodies thus all the people who go to the doc for some ailment every time they feel bad.....I’m country and will stay country. Love the land here in East Tennessee.......

A friend retired to Eastern Tennessee and he loves it. Says he still can't believe that life still exists in our Country. I have to visit. Downstate New York is entirely Blue and entirely socialist, with fewer people working and fewer people speaking English.

I would change those plugs and don't be scared about it. Just because its runs good today doesn't mean it will a month from now or whenever. Just my opinion. I changed the plugs on my 2014 5.4L at 85K and the plugs on my 2003 at 99K. The longer you leave them in the more they might be difficult to get out said:
I probably got the best spark plugs Ford ever made in my Expedition with 268,000+ miles. I'm afraid to touch the seven original plugs/coil packs. I'm knocking on wood but any day could be that day to have the rest of them fail, along with the original starter, alternator, water pump, power steering pump, fuel pump,
tranny, engine, A/C, suspension parts, etc. This post will probably jinx me. LOL
