I practiced on a spare set of lenses last year for the Mustang. Prefer to use tinted clear, but it's so much easier to use the VHT stuff. I found the best way to use it to lay the clear before the VHT flashes out.

Exactly - if you lay the clear before the VHT flashes then they still have that wet look to them and don't get as "dull".

If you really want them to look good once everything cures, wetsand with 2000 grit and then use a good polishing compound and buff them out. Then they turn out nice and shiny and almost look like professional tinted clear.

This pic is just the lights being sprayed with no buffing as I have not had time, but we did my buddies '03 Accord and buffed his and they look real sharp. He is always having people ask where he got them done at and no one belives that it is VHT!

The dealership installed the Automate AM1 remote start / alarm package today.

http://www.automatecarsecurity.com/products/sec.asp

I've only been messing with it for one evening, but it seems to be working pretty slick. The most convenient feature (to me) is the fact that it works with the OEM remote (no need to carry two remotes). To activate remote start, you press the lock button on the remote twice. The vehicle stays locked while running and will shut-down after 15 minutes if the key is not turned on. There is no "siren" - it uses the car horn.

I had them turn off the arm/disarm beeps so that I don't annoy the neighbors. For the record, I'm not a big fan of alarms but just so happens the remote start package I wanted came with it.

i just had really bad luck this last 6 months. or so.

10/15/10 i get hit head on at 35mph in my 2000 excursion. its totaled and i'm hurt.

12/28/10 i get hit well turning left w/my signal on by somebody trying to pass me in a no-passing zone in my new 2002 excursion.

1/16/11 i get hit in my 1998 expedition by a girl running a stop sign...basicly t-boned me.

none were my fault and its such a pain in the ass.

Well at least the saying goes :poop: ALWAYS COMES IN 3'S so it looks like that is all taken care of and everything should be in your favor for a while!

I definatley hear ya on everything being a PITA! Being without your ride because of someone else's stupidity and having to deal with all the Jack Ass insurance agents and body shop's - I feel for ya man!
