what have you done to your 1st gen today?

As some of you know I just bought a 97 expedition lifted.... that needs work.

Today I washed her, pulled The spark plugs(trying to unseize the motor.), removed the dashboard (just where the gauges are.), removed hatch door panels and firgued out what the rear latch wasn't working, pulled door panels and pulled out the exterior door handles to repaint. Im still painted the door handles but they're coming out very nicely.

Yep! I'm not sure if I want to replace them or not. I'm liking the look without them.

Yeah I've seen a few 1st gens without any running boards and it changes the whole look of the truck, makes it look a lot taller.

It wasn't today, but last weekend I installed some new halo fog lights and some clear marker and headlights

i fired mine up when i got home..was about 0F out it was covered in frost. pulled it in the garage to thaw out and i'm going to drive it tomorrow. it has a full tank of gas and the excursion is getting close to needing a fill up...the joys of having a choice of trucks to drive lol

Did you spray PBlaster in to the spark plug wells? I would use that and Marvel Mystery Oil down in the cylinders and a very generous amount in the crankcase and try to spin very slowly manually. If the seized engine begins to move I would keep doing it manually quite a bit before using the starter motor.

Do you have any idea how long it has sat since seized?

Replaced broken rear differential pinion yolk, driveshaft u-joint, and both rear lower control arms.

I thought about taking off the side molding and the running boards.... anyone think it would look better?

Im also thinking of wraping my front and rear bumper white this weekend so it matches the rest of the truck

I have no idea. I did check the vin and took another look at the motor and its a 5.4... the guy I bought it from said it was a 4.6. But I can't turn the crank maunally and the starter does get it about a .25 inch every time I turn the key...

Yes! No running boards! At least not the stock ones. They are easy to take on/off. So you could always just slap them back on if you don't like it.

Yesterday I started to take the front clip off...

I only had time for the bumber... so not much accomplished but hopfully tonight will be a little diffrent along with tomorrow and sunday.

Not today but over the past month I have; converted from air suspension to coils with the kit from Monroe, LED 3rd brake light to go with the brake lights I already had, AVS bug deflector & window vents, stainless steel door trim (below windows), and removed the factory door trim. I'm thinking about painting the lower front bumper black to match the rest of the truck.

When I bought the truck a lot of the trim was an unglyyy tealish color. So I had a little paint left over from the door handles and thought I try and cover up one of the door trims and see how they looked. Let me know what y'all think. I need to replace the door panels anyway but maybe I'll redo the trim white if y'all think it looks good?
