Hello all,

Been doing a lot of research on line about installing an electric fan on my 2000 Ford Expedition with a 4.6 motor. I think that I want to go with the Ford Windstar dual fan route, you can get a brand new one from Rockauto for like $86...

I know that this subject has been covered a lot, but what is the best controller out there for this particular setup?
I want to have the second fan kick on if the temp gets too high, and when the A/C kicks on..other then that, I am not too picky...
I can handle the installation part of it, but what gets confusing is if I need a relay, variable thermostat, etc.
I have looked at many sites, including Troyer, Flex a lite, amongst many others..as well as this forum...any advice is appreciated..thanks..

I will have to dig around the forum a bit to find it but a user here did it using the electrics from a volvo and did a writeup as well.

I had a hard time choosing a controller for mine as well. I went with a Derale 16759 and opted to have it control the larger main fan (windstar dual fan) only. I set up a manual switch to turn on the smaller fan if needed but so far haven't had any reason to use it.

I was planning to upgrade the controller and ditch the manual switch after this winter but I'm thinking it works fine as is and probably shouldn't spend anymore money on this project. :)
