I like the US cars...

I had :

- Chrysler 300M 1999
- Forx Explorer Limited 4x4 4,0l SOHC 1998
- Cadillac Seville 4,6l V8 Northstar 1995
- Jeep Wrangler 2,5 1989

Now i have a Land Rover Ranger Rover, and i have sold it.

I want to buy an '98 Ford Expedition 5,4l V8 4x4 Eddy Bauer.

It have 120 000 kms / 74 500 miles.

What are the dark points on Expedition ?

What must i look before buying ?

I have read headgasket failure on 98 / 99 Expédition ??!!

My friend has a 98 with 132,000 on it and the only problem he had was the PATS alarm system, otherwise it's been a perfect car. I have heard about spark plugs getting loose and "blowing out", but I believe if you check them regularly to make sure they are torqued that is not an issue. From what I know the 98 is a solid model year.

bonjour jeremy. you shouldnt really have any head gasket problems on ur expy. i had a 98 and never had any problems. and those are pretty low miles for a 98. like suggested, just keep an eye on your spark plugs. like i said, i never had any problems but that doesnt mean you wont. au revoir.

I have find another Expedition, because the first one with 120000kms, was very damaged, the engine not run on the 8 cylinders, the air suspension is out of service, big rust on frame, ....

I have find another Expedition, it's '97 5,4l V8 Eddie Bauer, it have an LPG installation ( in France Unleaded fuel is expensive ), and gas is 50% less expensive than Unleaded Fuel...

It have 203 000kms / 126 138miles. Black metal with sand interior

On it, i must make :

- Change the steering wheel
- Change the driver seat cover
- Repair the lights of Step bar
- Change the 4 tires
- Repair the motor / assembly of Left quarter window

Does the motor have much problem with LPG installation ? ( Valves, Headgasket, ...)

try not to get air ride.....instead get springs. dont get a/c in rear.....check the transfer case for handprints and make sure truck has a dry under carage...

avoid...these options cause they cost you later....unless your keeping truck for a while and changing it like the others cause u love us cars......

I have a 98 expy xlt with the 4.6 and 153000 miles on it and i just replaced the head gasket. The only problem is getting all the shit out of the way on the passenger side to get the valve covers off and then having no puller pulley to get the crankshaft pulley off. Then I snapped off a bolt in the EGR. So IM getting ready to put a 460 in it.
