Just bought a 19 Platinum, should have it Tuesday. 87 is fine, but 93 gets more HP, right? What are you guys running?

Mine’s chipped. I’m running 93 octane to yield 480hp. So fun to see Escalade drivers scratch their heads over “what’s going on?”

480... crank hp. 15-20% power loss to the wheels you’re probably high 390s low 400s

What “chip” are you running?

You can’t just take the advertised “400 hp” crank hp and add the “chip” +80hp and say it gets 480. Unless you’ve got a dyno of your truck with the chip on it reading 480 rwhp, I’m calling BS

Hp Tuners and 5 star have custom tuned the new 10 speeds on 93 and they see low 400s to the wheels.

The Escalade has the 6.2l 403hp. I doubt any Cadillac owner, wonders about your V6 Expedition. They are probably laughing, watching you horse the piss out of it.

Escalade has 420 horsepower 6.2, and yes they are laughing at anyone in an SUV who wants to race. Anyone who pulls up to race in an Expedition or a Chevy should be laughed at. GMC Denali beats the Navigator here.

You missed the 0-60 times (in the video above):

Navi 8.24

Yukon 8.87

Durango 5.91 (Dang that is very FAST for any kind of SUV).

So I'm a little clueless on octanes here. Is there no harm in running whatever octane I feel like whenever I feel like it? Do I have to run a tank to below E before changing octanes? Is efficiency/MPG impacted by octane choice? Noob questions, I know. Picking up the '19 Platinum tonight!

"adds 89rwhp", on top of the 400 that a stock Platinum does.

After install, I can confirm that the power gain is substantial with 93 octane. I can no longer go WOT in 2WD mode because traction control constantly kicks in. Full WOT acceleration is only possible with traction control turned off and vehicle in 4WD mode. It just rockets forward.
Your platinum has dyno charts that show it has 331 rwhp. That’s REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER, not sure if you’re familiar with that. It means that the claimed “400hp platinum” that ford puts out is crank HP. So with your 331 hp and 89rwhp from this ridiculous contraption that just ups your boost and does nothing else you get 420hp at 5200rpm.

So, you do not have 489 rwhp, you have 420.

Honestly, if you purchased this I think you wasted your money when you could’ve gotten a custom tune that will maximize 27 other PIDs and DMRs resulting in even more power, tq, efficiency, and healthiness of your investment

If you can afford it, get the highest octane. Power and efficiency go up and it keeps the engine healthy. Technically, you can run 87 and be just fine. But idk how much you paid for your 19, but I would go premium and never look back

You can mix but just know that lower octane fuel causes more knock which robs power and can cause spark plug detonation if knock gets too high
