What part is it!?

Can anyone tell me what the metal component is behind the passenger headlight unit in front of the washer fluid tank? It looks like a cast metal part with a 'ribbed' appearance which seems to be to dissipate heat? Mine is making a racket...

So I've figured out that it is the air suspension compressor pump. Seems to come on after start and occasionally when the vehicle stops. Never hear it whilst running. It's pretty loud - guessing something ain't right....

They are LOUD!... But it may be normal.
Have you ever owned any car or truck with Air suspension?
Also It may be on the way out if it is louder than other trucks (normal). Now, what is normal is the question.
