I have an 08 limited with 18 inch wheels. I want to put some Michelin ltx ms2's or at2s on it. There is currently pirelli scorpion str's on there they are 255/70-18. I am wondering if without any modification I can use 275/65-18 or 265/70-18's on it. I'm looking for a little bit beefier tire but not crazy.

Not sure of the tire size but be sure the tire fits the wheel. I just bought 265 70 16 tires from Discount Tire to go on the Ford factory steel wheels. It turns out the vibration I experienced afterwards was because the 265 tires are designed to be on 8" or wider wheels, not the 6" wide steel factory wheels. Rebalancing, front-end work, rear brake job, thorough check of the drive train, nothing helped but when I bought new 8" wheels for the Expedition at the recommendation of a different Discount Tire shop, the vibration went away. The 1st Discount Tire shop is now working with me, a 15 yr plus customer, on tires for our Saturn, after the regional office got a very strongly worded email from me about them being the tire & wheel expert. I fully expect to get a $362.53 discount on my Saturn tires.

So, just be sure the rubber tire fits the metal wheel.

Thanks. I beleive I have 8.5" wheels so I should be o.k. as far as that goes. I just don't want any rubbing with normal driving, of course vibration would be bad also.
