Hi guys new to the forum and Expeditions but not new to auto repair. I bought this 2003 expy with what I thought was a bad cat but is actually throwing about 22 codes (not joking). So I believe it is a bad PCM after testing and replacing some evap stuff and o2 sensors. Turns out most of that stuff was fine but there was now signal traveling through the harness. Long story short I ordered a PCM at a local parts store but now I fear I'm not going to be able to do anything with it because I will need the dealer to reprogram it for me. Is that true?

Do these things come plug and play or will I need a tow truck and a bucket of money to get the dealer to program it?

Thanks for your time

First it would be nice to know what codes are being thrown. This way by knowing the codes we can look them up to see if there is a common issue in the wiring.

And yes if its not running the replacement will need to be reprogrammed. This may be able to be done by taking the old PCM and New PCM to the dealer. Check with the dealer on this.
