Neither. I choose the new 5.2 V8 flat plane crank at 526 horsepower in the mustang GT350.

EB has a lot of potential. I really like the motor.
But the 5.0 made it actually happen for me.
Still wish I had a chance to drive a 6.2

I drove all 3 back to back and spent over a week driving each (all were F150s) personally I wouldn't take any of them and in all honesty it's not the motors fault, it's the POS 6 speed auto transmission, it up shifts 4 gears before you hit 15mph and crises in 6th before 40,
You can hold gears till about 5500rpm before it over rides the hold and up shifts but there's no point in holding the gears to be honest both V8s lack top end torque it's sad, like they don't throw you in your seat if you try to gun it. They just scream but without much action.
The ecoboost does feel better if you hold gears at the top of the rpm range but that's where the differences end, if Ford would've kept the 4spd the 6th gen expy had it would've made for a more enjoyable ride but we know (it's all about stupid mpgs),
My choice in all those motors however would have to be the 5.4, followed very closely by the EB, the 5.4 is a beast of a motor... So much grunt and aggression in the low end (where you really need it) it never needs to go over 3000rpm yet still offers a slam you in your seat experience. The EB is better than the 5.4 that we all can agree on but the transmission it pairs to is a huge disadvantage in allowing it to be a fun daily driver.. it's fun for the first week or so then you get tired of fighting the transmission from upshifting so quickly and you eventually get bored of it as there's no win in sight...
On a side note... the 6.2 has a bit more grunt than the 5.0 but they're both highway motors, not city friendly.

Your not hitting the 6.2 hard enough if it isn't flying... I drive a few in The SDs and the things whip you back in your seat. that engine hits 6,000 before an upshift at which point your getting 411 horsepower and 434 lb ft of torque in a 150. What I never liked about the choice is you could never even get the 6.2L in an F-150 unless it was a Platinum Edition or Raptor you couldn't get it on XL through Lariat trims. It's standard on SD. I have the same transmission in my expy as the F-150s and it's certainly not in fourth gear at 15 mph, maybe up shifting to second if I don't have any foot into the pedal. Mine doesn't go into overdrive until a bit after you hit your desired speed limit. I will say the six speed has a weird shift schedule.

I've got a little over 3k miles on my '17, but it won't shift into 6th below 45 mph. It'll just hold 5th if I'm on city streets at 40 mph.

Agreed, these transmissions are the issue and they're getting ridiculous. My Ford Fusion fleet car is practically in 6th gear before I get out of the driveway and you're constantly on the gas to get it to down-shift to move. Fuel savings? Zilch. This is the 4th Fusion I've had and they get progressively worse. Our company is no longer using Ford after this year, so it's somewhat of a moot point now...
On a side note: Is this something you can change in the trucks with a programmer?
Engine maintains low rpms thus for uses less fuel to move. It's all about mpg papi

My '17 will not go into 6th below 43mph, no matter what. On level ground at zero load, it's 45mph before it slips into 6th but once I did see it slip into 6th while rolling downhill with no load at 43 but only once.....it will D/S on demand but I want it to....when I step on the gas, and depending on how far I step on the gas, it will respond accordingly...whether it's a simple single D/S and go or if I'm telling it to toss caution to the wind and go for it at which point it will leap forward, instantly dropping to 3rd and providing a near full-boost condition almost instantly.....compared to the two other "blown" vehicles I own, it does it admirably too!

It increases fuel economy and speed/precision. I believe that transmission change alone gave the expy 2 seconds faster 0-60 and better power delivery.
I worked for a dealer. The mechanics, never owned anything new. In fact most of there vehicles, were beat. I would not put too much stock, in this video. I would like to see a video, asking about, how many Eco Boost come in for repairs and what they were.

Now that is about the only thing you've ever said that I agree with....mechanics have crappy beaters, plumbers have leaky fixtures, carpenters have half-hung doors and unfinished drywall....just the nature of our work.....what we do for a living is usually the last thing we want to do when we get home!

I tried explaining that to my wife when I had my construction business. She always griped about how I did it for customers but not for us. I quoted "the cobblers kids have no shoes". She looked at me and said "WTF are you talking about? Our kids have shoes!"
The Expedition 6sp, 6R80 transmission is a BMW/ZF design, built under license by Ford. It has a adaptive learning module. It learns driving habits and shifts accordingly. The problem is, most people don't horse there vehicles, on a regular basis. That computer adjusts for a dull driving experience. Did you ever notice, how rental cars, have good acceleration? That is because they are constantly beat on. I have this frustrating transmission, in my 2011 Mustang GT. I wish there was a way to disable, this stupid feature and leave it in a performance mode, full time. I recently floored it around 20mph. The tires spun and it got a little sideways. It seemed to wake the car up, transmission wise. The shifting improved and now winds the gears out, slightly better. So if you have the 6R80, try opening it up, once in a while.
If its a ZF, theres almost certainly some raindance stupid pattern of shifts and key on key off stomp brake thrice and do two cartwheels sequence to reset tranny learning.. .
The driver should learn the car, not the car learn the driver. A simple button disable/sport mode, is all that Ford should of added. Ford instead put a hill assist button? How stupid? On the Mustang, pulling fuse 47 for 10 minutes, will reset it, only temporary.
