Just got an 07 eddie bauer and looking to add a little mean to it. I am wanting to get as close to an old school muscle car sound but just wanting to do the muffler no a full catback system. Any suggestions?

FlowMaster, just be careful which series you choose. Speaking from experience, a 40 series has a good bark but the drone at 70 mph is horrible, unless you don't mind it. Had one on mine and switched to MagnaFlow. Really don't know it's there till you hit the loud pedal, cruise is very comfortable, only a slight hint of drone.

We went with the Dynomax VT Muffler. Their claims of it being "drone free" are absolutely spot on. We originally had a di/do Magnaflow, then switched to a di/do Flowmaster and then onto a di/do Gibson. All three had an unbearable drone in the cab. The VT muffler did away with the drone but make no mistake...when the hammer is dropped, the Expy sounds badass!

Just our 2 cents.

I second the Spintech Mufflers. I went with mine thanks to Tallsville's recommendation. I've read some very well written reviews on some mustang and other race forums where they compared the CFM of flow of several brands. Spintech was better than most other brands, except they also provided a reduction in sound. I don't think there's any brand of muffler that flows as much as the Spintech, unless you get a glass pack that you can literally see right through.

The sound is deep during light acceleration, extremely quiet at idle, and kind of like a race car at full rpm. There's no drone on the highway either. I opted for a dual inlet and single 3" outlet setup. It's much better than the horrible factory Y pipe.

We've had these mufflers for a few months now. And I'll tell you, as soon as I have some time, I'm getting another set for my supercharged F150 and ditching the Magnaflow di/do muffler I have on it.

These Dynomax mufflers rock! ...if you hate the drone.
