I have a 2021 Ford Expedition with factory ccd suspension, so I’ve heard lifting isn’t a good idea and I want to keep the suspension stock.

Questions:
  1. On my current wheels, what tires can I run to get more sidewall and aggressive tread without issues?
  2. If I go to a smaller wheel, what size works without messing up the ccd suspension?
Use is light off-road (sand, dirt roads, trails). Mostly looking for a tougher look and better traction.

If I were here, you would know it !
Well, you can look here to see an illustration of the differences from changing tire sizes. Also note the speedometer changes in the lower right corner...

The tires in your pic look like 2xx/45/22's or thereabouts, so you should be able go up to a 55 or 65 on the sidewall height without any issues, assuming the suspension is stock and hasn't been otherwise altered....and depending on how much clearance you actually have in the fender wells, you MIGHT be able to go up to a 70 or 75, but that might be pushing it....

As for tire BRANDS, there are a ton....but a big favorite around here are Michelin Defenders, which are what I will be putting on my '011 in the spring. I'll be getting the LTX Platinum version because they are a little more aggressive & I like their appearance more than the standard LTX's and only a few $$ more, but that's just me :)

Pirelli, Cooper and BFG's also get some recommendations, but based on what I've read here, I would suggest you go to a galaxy far, far, far in order to stay away from da Kook's, which tend to be noisy with short-living treads, as well as numerous instances of premature sidewall failures......

Correction. I have CCD (Continuously Controlled Damping) system. I said air suspension because I thought that’s what it was. Now I see that it’s electronic. I will update.

I have 2019 Expi and just bought new tires - rush job to deal with puncture. I am not unpleased with small change to from 45 to 55. Agree with Discount Tire database that it clears, but close on front fender lip. Not a destination but noticeably better if you are looking.

I have a 2019 Expy Ltd Stealth that came with the 22" wheels and CCD. I replaced the wheels with 18" 'take offs' from an F150 FX, and 275/65R18 XL... Once the tires on said takeoffs wear out, i plan on getting LT275/65R18 BF Goodrich All Terrain KO3, these have MUCH tougher sidewalls than any P tire. I ran the equivalents on my last two trucks, a Tacoma TRD, and a F250 diesel, they were great on road and offroad, very good in wet weather too. surprisingly quiet and smooth on pavement (sure, not as quiet/smooth as a pure highway tire)
