Which year Expedition has enough room behind the third row seat to put a full-size ice chest? I am not talking one of those gigantic chest but a medium size with wheels chest that my wife and daughter can roll around. The one we have will nt fit behind the 3rd row seat. And, will the front end parts I just put on my 1998 Expedition and the fuel pump that will go in shortly, etc work on whatever year that Expedition is? What I am getting at is what parts from a 1998 Expy will fit on a newer Expy? Is there a Hollands (Hollander?) parts interchange manual for the Expys?

I got an 05 and it dosent fit behind the third row, but thinking outside of the box if i fold down the 40 portion of the 60/40 3rd row it fits in there snug and dosent slide (full size cooler) as far as parts im not sure, but one of the experts will chime in soon.

I thiink there was a model where Ford extended the Expedition 3" or so. I think it was an "EL" model (extended length) and you can fit a standard size cooler behind the seats now. But, I am not sure if I am correct, and what years that longer version was available.

That is my one complaint with the Expy: my sister's Honda Minivan has more room than the Expedition when packign it full of stuff when traveling.

I believe the el is actually 16 inches longer and will definitely fit a cooler back there with the third row up. Not positive what year the el came out iknow they are available 2007 to current. Thanks, Mike
