Congrats on the new ride! Quick favor as I asked this another thread, but never heard back. On your 2025, can you see if there is a bar that is attached to the frame, right in front of the driver and passenger front door that goes into the wheel well to protect the occupants in the small offset crashes? As I understand it, this bar is not on the 2022-24 expeditions, and would be a clue as to whether or not the ‘25s would have better safety this time around.
I'll bet, looks like a lot of fun.

Just got a call from my dealer, the truck just showed up with our order and two lot orders, the first 25s for them. Dealer (owner) was bummed because he ordered one just like ours and his wasn't on the truck lol. It'll be Tuesday before we can pick it up.
Serious? You know for a fact that absent a bar you can’t see in this pic, that the vehicle is less safe than a previous model?

Absent the actual 2025 small over lap test, yeah, I’m disappointed in what I didn’t see in the picture. Get it?
There is nothing to get. Absent specific crash test data in that area with and without a “crash bar”…..there is no reason to opine on it…..Let alone have negative feels. Are you a ford or OEM product engineer?

That may work in your personal life with your spouse/friends, but on a public Internet forum, you simply aren’t getting it. People have opinions and/or feelings that are different from yours.
As I’m neither a ford engineer or OEM product engineer, having a crash bar evident in a picture would give hope and a “clue” (it worked for the F150) that a $75k+ purchase would be safer than previous generations. Only a true crash result would reveal that. But until then, I’m happy to express an opinion/ feeling, unless that’s against the forum rules.
Oh you are free to have whatever opinion or feeling you want……great and good for you. Just trying to understand what would lead you to think and comment (on the public Internet forum) that this vehicle is less safe than a previous one without something and certainly something you can’t see in that picture. It would be different if you had some pedigree I suppose. As it stands you are just chit posting about a safety issue you don’t know anything of.

Ah…I see your rub now. I was wondering why there was all the hostility for saying something as simple as I was disappointed for not seeing something in a picture.
Look, just because you have a previous gen, don’t get triggered by my opinions. Makes you look weak, and frankly, makes you look like you’d rather participate in an echo chamber rather than a true forum.
Instead, focus on my comments where I mentioned visible crash protection (like a crash bar) gives reassurance that it could be effective, a la the F150.
Read carefully where I didn’t say previous generations were unsafe, but rather, suggested that the hope is for improved safety over them, especially for the amount of money one has to spend on them. Safety should always look to get better, right?
Read the above a few times and it will help you sleep better at night.

Unfortunately I just looked, another clue: IIHS seems to have updated their expedition review. It says:

Looking at the photo, I don't think they tested the 2025 version yet.
I dont see a crash bar on any competitors frames. I think the main reason the f150 supercrew had it was due to the aluminum body being more prone to flex. I do think know why they didn't include it on all models, but i would think ford would add it to all their fs frames if they carry passengers. I would look if I had one.

Exactly. Until IIHS actually tests a 5th gen Expedition, it's disingenuous to the point of being "fake news" for IIHS to include the 2025s in their vehicle ratings report.
Remember that IIHS doesn't set vehicle safety standards. The purpose of the IIHS vehicle ratings is to give insurance companies data upon which to determine collision insurance rates. The IIHS was founded by the major car insurance companies and acts on behalf of them. Any benefit to actual owners and users of these vehicles is secondary.
Here's the NHTSA report on the 2025 Expeditions. At least NHTSA is being honest about their ratings:

I don't get it. There are numerous media walk-around preview videos of the 2025's on YouTube that were posted 6 months ago. Where are the units that have been ordered by paying customers? Ford.com dealer inventory link shows 2 2025's on dealer lots within 20 miles of Cincinnati. Expanding the search area to 50 miles shows 5 more units. Sure makes me wonder. CJ Dave.

Since I started this thread I figured I’d give you an update. My build went into production on 2/27. I got an email from ford saying there was an unexpected delay on 3/6. Ford order tracker still says in production. I’m tempted to go and buy one of the Tremors on nearby dealer lots. I haven’t heard of any delays affecting tremors, like the wheel delay with the Platinums. So I’m worried it’s specific to mine. I’m wondering if Ford prioritizes orders to dealers with better sales, customer satisfaction, etc. Any thoughts?
