Maybe the roads here are oily from it not raining often (my expedition has never seen snow or ice).. or maybe my expectations are just too high for this big SUV.

215,964 was the mileage when I parked it and got the grand cherokee... its still out on the side of the house collection dust and runs like a champ. replaced the transfer case back in 2003 when it went south otherwise only big items have been the o2 sensors that go out too often, and the exhaust.

I just hope nothing happens to the engine, because it would make no sense replacing the engine with that mileage and not rebuild the tranny.....However, sinking that kind of money at this stage of the game is the question. Does anyone know what's the number one reason that can make a transfer case go bad?

Is that original paint? If so it's looking extremely good for the mileage... My paint is still shiny but unfortunetly I've put a lot of light scratches in it too...doesn't help that I have black paint.

Yes that is the original paint.......I love to take care of any car/truck I own.......I've been diligent over the past 11 years with keeping a nice couple of layers of wax on that truck.........Dark colors are always hard to keep from scratches showing, and is constant work keeping them to a minimum.

233,000 miles and counting! Original almost everything! Engine, tranny, alternator, 2nd serpentine belt. Will keep forever!

225xxx on my 97 XLT without any problems (knock on wood). I drive like a grandpa around town, but I've hauled some really heavy loads for 1000+ miles at a time.

Looks like there's plenty of high mileage Expos still pulling strong! I think there would be more, but people tend to get cold feet the closer they get to 200k, and look to get rid of it.......I'm curious to see what kind of miles those F250/350's get...Their much more rugged and durable than our trucks

anything above 225 is nothing to sneeze at.........Question, anybody know how to remove the overhead console? I think one of the clips on mine is broken, and makes an irritating squeaking noise......Someone told me to pull straight down hard to remove it off the first two clips up front. He said it feels like you're going to break it, but I would like someone to vouch for that method before I do it.
