I love my 2011 Expy but when I price them out new here in Canada mine is $76,000.00 before taxes. I paid 42 grand for mine. I was just wondering why they are so much $. My buddy got a new 2013 Fusion and yes it is a car but you should see the tech in this thing. Just wondering why the Expy does not have these things or the tech like the Raptor has that is about the same price.

I agree that the new smaller cars have better technology than the much more expensive Expeditions. The problem may lie with the low volume of vehicles sold, and the cost of manufacturing them/tooling the lines.

Ya That makes sense. Dont get me wrong though I still love my ride and was not looking into a car LOL but what Ford has come out with is pretty cool. Maybe in the next Gen Expedition.

How much is your life worth? If I get in a bad crash, I'd want to be in a big SUV instead of a small economical car. You think Expedition is pricey, go check some Tahoe's.

A good chunk of that would be the 'Canadian Premium surtax'. For some reason pretty much all new cars are marked up considerably compared to those South of the border.

My Mustang was a solid 9k over and above what they guys in the US were paying, and that was for the exact same car and options. The dollar was darn near par at that time too, so it wasn't exchange.

Even comparing pricing on the ford websites, the base Expedition is $40,600 in the US and the same truck is listed at $47,500 up here. The price difference gets even worse as a person moves up the model line. The Limited is even worse, ~ 12k more in the great white North. Not only that, but a KR in the US is listed at only $1,000 more than an XLT in Canada...

It certainly makes strong case for cross-border shopping.

Ya I used to be a big Chevy fan when I was younger but Ford just looks so much better and when I got my first F150 6 years ago I could not believe how much more you got with looks and options with the Ford over the Chevy. I guess the Tahoe has better fuel mileage but when it comes to looking good the Ford has it beat but thats just me.

I work at a chevy dealer and I bought a 2012 expedition for the wife. Interior build quality is much better.

I think I would have to disagree. I have an 05 and it has all the tech stuff that was in the cars in 05. Heated/ac seats, steering wheel controls for a/c, radio and cruise and more. The only things mine are missing was factory nav, rear entertainment, air ride and the pop out rear vent windows which were all available options. Ford's sync didn't come out till 07 so It couldn't have that. What else realy is there. Heck, the Expedition was the only full size suv with irs which is why they ride so well and are still able to have an 8k+ tow rating. I'm sure when they come out with the redesigned model, it will ahve all the latest tech stuff in it.

Ya mine is nice dont get me wrong but if you look at the 2013 Fusion for example and the 2013 Expedition the technology in the Fusion is way better. I like the ride and well just being in a Expedition more then a car but for $80,000.00 you would think you would have everything. But I dont even get the full Sync in Canada :(
