Can't say I blame her, but after the way our 2005 went so rapidly downhill I'm a bit surprised that she would be receptive to it but we test drove one today, and the ecoboost hooked her. After test driving a 4 Runner, I suspected that it would.....

She's had mostly 4x4s in SUVs but she rarely uses that feature so I'm thinking a 2wd model may be more in line this time. She's fine with an XLT but it looks like you can't get the 360 camera on that or the 2nd row captain's chairs. Is there a work-around on that that I'm missing?

Would ultimately like to put a readylift 3-2 on it, change the wheels to maybe some 33s and perhaps treat the chrome to some wrap to stealth it up some, so I was looking to stay with the XLT if possible to spend money on the other stuff.

Any guidance out there or am I screwed going to the Limited?

Yeah, Ford links the 360 to several other options, like you can’t get it without a sunroof. I guess if you are too tall for a sunroof, you don’t deserve the convenience and safety of the cameras. Same follows if you don’t want to buy the upgraded packages.

Maybe find a left over 18 limited. Mine has the tow package with locking differential .that's all I have ever needed in snow.

May want to keep in mind that only the 4x4 version can be flat towed behind another vehicle since the transfer case can be put in neutral if that is ever a requirement.

Not opposed to a 4x4, but we won't be flat towing. This MAY be a tow vehicle for the kit Cobra in a few years if I ever finish that damned project.

Get the 3.73 gears unless you want just a highway cruiser.... The 3.73's are far more responsive and would be better for nay towing you did.
