I'm putting an Anderson quick disconnect on my '05 EB to power a winch on my boat trailer. I plan on running two 2awg cables from the back of the truck to the front. In looking at routing the cables, I see metal lines for my rear heat-a/c. Is there any reason I shouldn't zip tie my winch cables to these? I would like to keep the cables routed neatly and secured out of the way. I could get cable clamps and self-tapping screws, but am wondering if the zip ties are good enough. I don't off-road at all so I don't see anything interfering with the cables. Thanks in advance.

Chibrew, you can tie strap them to the hoses. The only things I will caution you on is to make sure that the cables will not rub against any high spot in the hoses (where 2 may meet or on a support bracket) as this will more than likely cause the cables to ground to the body of the truck and based on the size of cable, you are going to have a real problem on your hands. Secondly, use the larger cable ties (ie, the ones that are around 3/16" wide). That will give you enough support to handle normal road driving. Space the tie straps about 2 feet apart.

If you need more info, let me know. I have to deal with mounting cables out of the way at my job. So, I have some useful guidelines I base things on.
