Window etching

So I work for a dealership as a detailer, someone messed up with the vin etching and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas how to lighten it up a little so we can put the correct one on and so it won't look horrible but somewhat ok to read it.....

Sounds like that window needs to be accidentally hit by a rock on the road.
